E books

I love to read. I will read just about anything from cereal boxes to drug inserts. I usually read 4 to 6 books a week depending on the length of the book. At home that is no problem, though storage was becoming a problem. Traveling was a problem, I would have to take 7 or 8 books along because of the extra time to read. I do love to keep my books, but as stated before I 'm running out of room. So I bought a kindle after a lot of deliberation. I love my kindle. I haven't figured out all of the ins and outs of down loading books yet, but since I have wifi in my home I don't have too. The Kindle senses the network and picks up the signal.
My next obstacle was the amount of books I was purchasing. Some of the medical texts can be quite pricey. The good news is if you take your Kindle or Nook to work you can have an entire medical library at your finger tips when ever you need it.  I am sure there are reference books available for other professions too.
In February I had to stop working for a while. (I had a procedure on my left posterior tibial tendon, but that is another story.) The bottom line was a lot of extra time, but no money to buy books.
If you have a Kindle or a Nook you are aware of how convenient they are but, are you  aware that both Amazon, and Barns & Noble offer many free books. The classics as  well as new material.  Plus there are many books that are nominally priced from .99 cents to around 2.99.  I have been happily reading for no cost for months and have discovered a lot of new authors I might not have tried.
There are also other web sites that have ebooks in in the Kindle or Nook format as well many  authors web sites that you can down load books directly from their own site.  In future posts I will go over some of these sites and their ease of use.

The opinions expressed are my own. I do not receive any monitary renumeration from anyone.

Happy reading,
Linda
